SoloistTrumpet is built so that the most sensitive thing about you — the sound of you practising — is never uploaded by Soloist. It leaves your device only if you explicitly choose to export or share your own take.

Audio

All listening, tuning, transcription, and grading run entirely on your iPhone or iPad. No audio recording, microphone data, or transcription is uploaded to our servers. Our backend has no audio endpoints at all. Sharing a take is an explicit user action through Apple's share sheet.

Version 1.1 and later

Public catalog updates — the app may request a public song-catalog update. The request includes no app-created identifier, account, purchase, practice audio, note-level take data, Coach selection, or take summary.
Subscription status — Apple may send us a cryptographically signed purchase-lifecycle notification. To prevent duplicate or out-of-order events from changing access incorrectly, we retain Apple's notification identifier, product and transaction identifiers, signed event time, and current entitlement status. We do not receive your name, email, payment-card details, audio, or practice results. Current app builds provide no sign-in path, so these pseudonymous purchase-event records are not linked to an app account; a guest or device identifier is never granted Pro by the server.

Practice Coach

Practice Coach is a deterministic feature built into the app. The concern you choose and any optional take summary are interpreted on your device to produce a trumpet practice prescription. No Coach message, take summary, device identifier, or audio is sent for coaching. Practice Coach works offline.

Earlier versions

Version 1.0 used an optional network Coach and server purchase reconciliation tied to a random per-install identifier. Coach text and a short numeric take summary were sent only when that Coach was used, and an Apple-signed transaction could be processed to reconcile Pro access. No audio was uploaded. Those compatibility routes remain available for installed version 1.0 clients. Legacy device identities are now free-only. Email nora@playsoloist.com to request deletion of a legacy server record.

What we don't do

No account or email is required to use SoloistTrumpet.
No advertising, no trackers, no third-party analytics SDKs.
We do not sell or share personal data with anyone.

Practice data

Your lesson progress, takes, stats, selected Coach focus, and generated practice prescription are stored or processed on your device. We cannot read them.

Data retention & deletion

Public catalog use creates no server-side account or practice profile. Delete the app to remove its on-device practice data. We retain minimal signed purchase-event records for subscription integrity and delete account-linked or legacy version 1.0 records on request, subject to records Apple requires for purchase administration, fraud prevention, or law. Children

SoloistTrumpet is not directed at children under 13. Current app builds require no account and do not ask for a name, email address, or contact details. Minimal pseudonymous purchase-event records may be retained as described above.
